Azeez O. Musa (PhD Candidate, USA)

Azeez O. Musa is a results-driven materials chemist and nanotechnologist whose work integrates advanced nanoelectronics, sustainable environmental technologies, and functional nanomaterials. As a fully funded Ph.D. candidate in Chemistry at the University of Missouri, USA, he is pioneering ultraviolet-assisted atomic layer deposition (ALD) of high-κ dielectrics for next-generation electronics and has made significant advances in biomass-derived nanomaterials for clean water purification and ultra-low-sulfur fuels.

Musa’s academic journey is global and distinguished. He holds dual Master’s degrees from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Saudi Arabia) and the University of New Mexico (USA), both awarded through prestigious, fully funded scholarships. His foundation in chemistry was laid at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria, where he graduated with honors, earning a B. Tech in Pure and Applied Chemistry.

His scholarly contributions are recognized internationally, with publications in high-impact journals such as Chemistry of Materials, Cleaner Materials, and Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research. His expertise is further demonstrated through his active role as a peer reviewer for leading journals, including the Journal of Hazardous Materials, underscoring his credibility and recognition within the scientific community.

Beyond research, Musa is a dedicated leader, mentor, and science communicator. He has provided strategic leadership as group leader for a nationwide ICT policy study in Saudi Arabia, mentored hundreds of undergraduates in their academic journeys, and inspired over 300 K–12 students through STEM outreach programs.
