Hello brilliant minds! I’m Usman Abdullahi, a Biochemistry graduate from Yobe State University, Nigeria, passionate about exploring how computational biology and biotechnology can drive discovery and development across Africa.
My scientific journey began with research on the phytochemical and antimicrobial properties of Acacia nilotica, and it’s now expanding into the use of bioinformatics tools like AlphaFold, MEGA Software, NCBI, UniProt, and Python to study protein structures, evolutionary relationships, and natural compound interactions.
I’ve also coordinated research training programs for students, focusing on scientific writing, proposal development, and research communication — because I believe science grows stronger through shared knowledge and collaboration.
Joining the International African Society of Sciences excites me as a platform to connect, learn, and contribute to the continent’s growing scientific voice. I look forward to building meaningful collaborations and pushing the frontiers of African research together.
